I find it somewhat humorous when a Chinese stock I have been following suddenly shows up as a fax tip on my fax machine. China voice Holding Corp (CHVC.PK) is one such entity.
I started following this one about a month ago on one of my online stock game sites. I found it by accident while looking on Yahoo for information on Charter Communications (CHTR). Because of the way Yahoo tries to guess the stock symbol once I had the CH entered this CHVC.pk showed up. curious I clicked on it.
Way back on October 15. 2007 I purchased a large amount of the stock for a mere $0.60 per share. This particular stock market game will not let you buy stocks for under $0.50 per share so finding this one was a lucky strike for me. Unfortunately for me the stock was sitting in that price range for more than a few days and it even dropped lower! Foolishly I dropped it to go into Charter Communications stocks (CHTR) and buy the end of October CHVC.PK had risen to $1.10.
I played the stock for a while buying and selling it with modest gains. When it hit $2.00 I was feeling very good about myself. Then it started going up real fast and hit $2.50! I was up over $40,000 on it and it started to level off. Nervous I sold it all. Too bad for me this particular stock game works on a 20 minute delay and buy the time the sell order went through the stock had dropped back down to $2.08. Luckily I had purchased my shares at below $2 each but I still lost out on a lot of potential profit.
The fax I got is a bit hard to read and has some banding lines going through it. The general gist of the fax is that a subsidiary of China Voice Holding Corp named CandiSoft has some patented technology called “Sky O/A”. They further talk about some sort of deal with a big agro company in China and the Chinese government.
The release also goes on to say that they expect this company to somehow change the way of life for China’s 800 million rural farmers.
The fax is dated December 5, 2007 and the actual news hit on December 4, 2007: China Voice Holding Corp Signs Partnership and Revenue Sharing Agreement with China’s Premier Agriculture Network e-Information Provider for China’s 800 Million Farmers

What do I think? I think the major money to be made on this one happened last month. I’d be willing to bet someone with deep pockets saw it rise up to $2.50 and went in deep only to have it crash down to the $1.50 range. they want their money back so they hired a fax service to fax-blast people with this amazing news.
Just the other day I got a very interesting stock tip via my fax machine. I say interesting because this one was not formated in the usual manner and it did not make any claims as to the projected value of the stock by the end of the week. It just gave the stock symbol and information on their product. Intrigued I Googled them and found their website.
The picture you see above is of their prototype. It’s just an artists rendering at this point because they have not actually built one yet.
The Skyflyer (SF MK II) is a VTOL (vertical take-off and landing vehicle). It is 4.26m long, and 4.26m wide; its overall weight is about 700kg. Four horizontal rotators are individually driven redundantly by established, often used special aircraft engines. The Skyflyer has a horizontal speed of 0 to 60km/h and a rate of ascend of 0.1m/sec. Its general flight characteristics are similar to that of helicopters, while its corning capability is even more precise.

As I read more and more of the information on their website I can’t help but think, “why would anyone invest money in this?” It looks like they are planning to use this vehicle in a closed structure as an amusement ride. They do talk about eventually having a vehicle for personal use outside of a flight dome but that is probably years away and would be subject to the same regulations as a private plane or helicopter.
They also mention using it as a rescue vehicle but, with the props being where they are and the limited amount of cabin space, I just can’t see why someone would choose to use this rather than a full size rescue helicopter.
Like many exotic vehicles it may find a home with some rich collectors who just want to own one. With all the licensing sure to be required to own and operate one of these I expect most folks will just stick with private planes and helicopters.
Just how much dust will those four props kick up? Do you really think your neighbors in the cul-de-sac are going to like it when you fire up those four props and send dirt and debris flying all over the place? Do you think local government will allow you to park this thing in your driveway?
I do give them some props for moving forward with the idea of a personal aviation device but I just don’t think this one is going to fly in the public sector.
I did not see any information on a maximum elevation ceiling for this vehicle and they list steering as “GPS” which tells me nothing. I see no obvious method of moving the vehicle in any direction other than up and down so I’m going to assume that turning involves slowing down the roters in the direction you want to turn and “dipping” the vehicle.
The stock SKFL is currently sitting at $0.57 per share and a hired analyst is saying the stock should pass $1 before the year is out.
The press reports I am reading indicate that the company is getting all their ducks in a row and taking on good engineers to work on the project. If they get the capital they need this project may take off. As to it getting past the prototype stage and having an actual park built for the vehicle to operate in is another question entirely.
I will be watching this one, if not no other reason than the fact that a personal flying vehicle interests me.
I have not done one of these articles in a while so I decided to write one up with a small twist. Usually I write about those awesome stock tips I get via email, this time I’m going to write about the other form of spam stock tips, the ones you get over your fax machine!
Yes, you know those ones. They often have a “call this number to be removed” line that never seems to work. This is one of those types of faxes. So, sit down and prepare to be entertained!
Your real start in China success begins today
Massive construction boom rockets Terra Nostra (TNRO) revenues to record high of $111.9 million for six months
The fax sheet begins by telling you how the time to buy in China is now as the Chinese companies that still trade on the American exchanges are ones that have made it through the initial China dot com boom.
They further point out that, because this company made $111.9 million in the past six months it should make the same in the next six months which would put it at $220 million for the year.
The fax goes on to say that investing in construction is perfect in China because the countries has been adding over 668 cities in less than 20 years. Obviously investing in a construction company must be profitable because of all of the construction work going on! That may well be true in a capitalist society but, China is not exactly known for being a capitalist country, especially over the last 20 years!
Now, you may be thinking this is all about buy stock in a construction company, guess again. This is actually a ploy to get you to invest in a company that supplies copper and stainless steel to the construction companies.
I did a little bit of investigating…

This fax was delivered on the 9th of March, notice something fishy?
If you look back through the charts you will see that the stock just about bottomed out in December of 2006 near $1.50 and there was a lot of trading going on after that.
I guess the lesson to be learned here is that if you want to make a quick killing on a stock buy it low. Then, hire a fax firm to send out an investment alert fax. A certain number of folks will buy the stock (hopefully from you) and then you can always buy it back the next day after it drops!
I’ll do a follow up on this one in a few months, or when the next stock alert fax comes over!
